My Honest Ibotta App Reviews - Does Ibotta Actually Really Work

  If you  have heard of  ibotta you are probably mostly looking for  some more information on this  cashback app.You may wonder how does ibotta app work? If you  have never heard of  ibotta  and want to learn how to get  cashback for most of the things you purchase from  day to day then  stay tuned!!!! So real quickly  for those who don't know what  ibotta is.  Ibotta is a  smartphone app that you can download for free that   will allow you to receive  cash back on   all kinds of purchases. This could be on  groceiries, online cloths shopping,  going to  different stores, trying out    different  subscriptions and lots more!

For most of us we have to spend  cash  monthly to get the things   we like and  need. So why not   get   a nice little chunk of change in  exchange right?!

Now you may be wondering how did i  get into the  ibotta app or start using it?

Well my friend i am going to tell you. I actually had  heard of the app  several years back but thought that I didn't really  buy enough things on a monthly  basis to warrant me  trying the app out. Boy was I wrong! 

So I was playing a game on my phone  and   an ad came up for  ibotta and they had a $20  sign up bonus  deal going on. So I was like why the  heck not  go  ahead and try this out! So I downloaded  it and tried it out. 

I must say at first I was bit let down. Yup! I bet you weren't expecting that!!!  The app mainly  works by havinh you   scan in your receipts that you get from  stores you shop at. So i believe  the first receipt i tried this with was   from a local convenience store.  Upon my  first  scan and submission I  got  a instant message saying that it was received and  i should expect cashback in about  24 hours.

Unfortunately it was then followed up  by an  email about how the receipt was not  readable and to try submitting again.  I  repeated the process and   i got the same email again. I tried it several times and then  just gave up. I was like i am sick of this!!! 

I think one of the reasons it didn't go through was because I  scanned my receipt under poor lighting.

So over the next couple of months I tried  scanning receipts from  walmart, target,  dollar tree, heb, academy sports and outdoors. I  saw nothing but cashback cashback cashback

So for those wondering if does ibotta actually really work? IT DOES!!!

 I was  so glad  i didn't  completely give up on the app after my  first   experience with it not being the best. Not only  did I get  cash back from  going to stores and  getting things I was gonna get anyways

i also got cashback from  my hotel stays. I regually  use booking.com to book  hotels and  I was able to go through the ibotta app special link and get   cash back  from  majoroty of my  my  hotel stays over hte past ew onths. I also used ibottawith the Hotels.com app and  gte   anice   discount as well as  cashback too!

 and if you have a credit card or debit card that already gives you cash back  then you  really  are gonna love this app!!!

So I will be honest  and say you you probably won't get rich from this app. LOL

 Though you  will probably  build up a nice little cash cushion for  rainy days or  to put towards vacations or  other   fun things!

I in MY FIRST MONTH I EARNED  OVER  $70  easily!

You may say ok so I scan my receipts and they confirm it  then i  get credited but how do i get real cash from this thing?

They way it is set up is once you reach  $20 threshold you can cashout   which is pretty easy to do if you buy  groceries each month,  travel or  like to try out  offers for fun!

Once you  reach  the  $20 threshold you  then  hit the cash out button  which is located on your account page in the app and it will allow you to use  paypal, venmo or   to convert your  earnings to a gift cards like walmart or many of the other  various  retailers.

I personally cash mine out through paypal and it is is done almost instantly then I have spendable  cash in my paypal account which I can  transfer to my bank  or   leave in pay pal to pay for future items online.

There are a few things you do need to know before you  start using ibotta

1. before you  dare scan in  any receipts make sure you  actually add the offer to your  account first. This means if you  see  ibotta is offering a  rebate on a box of snacks and you  plan to buy it to earn the rebate  then   go to the item in ibotta and  click the plus sign  near it   to have it added to  your "my offers" section

  so in the future when you  scan your receipt it will recognize this  and   you will be eligible for the rebate if you don't then  the rebate is guaranteed to not go through.

I wish this wasn't the case but you  need to perform this  each time before you scan and submit your receipts or you  may not get your rebate at all!

2.Don't  just  blow money  to get rebates. You need to be smart about  this. if you are   just buying random items on  ibotta just to get a rebate   you can easily find yourself  overspending and not making much money in return. Ibotta works best when you purchase items you are genuinely interested in and will actually use. It is also good for trying out new items you might not had considered but want to test out  and get a nice  rebate in return for. I  have used it for this purpose several times there were several items that ibotta recommended that i really ended up liking after  trying them and i got  a nice  rebate in return.

3. before you make a  purchase check ibotta first you might be surprised at what rebates may be possible through the app for the item you  intend to buy. I found this to be true for  my hotel rentals and it was nice surprise!!!

Real quick you may wonder...

Does  ibotta work with  food stamps or  does it work with ebt?

The answer is yes because it is  dealing with the  receipt from your  transaction and not how you pay for the  items.

So  does ibotta actually really  work? I would have to say  OH YEAH! JUST BE SMART ABOUT IT! Use the app as a way to get   additional cash back on things you were gonna buy anyways. IT IS A NICE BONUS AND YOU FEEL SMARTER AFTERWARDS and little  richer or  at least i did!!!
